Energy Conversion of eCO2 Supercritical CO2 Power Generation

Carbon dioxide power generation is a new type of technology. Since the first industrial revolution, the main way to utilize thermal energy is to convert it into mechanical energy through the power system to provide power for human activities. sCO2 supercritical carbon dioxide power generation system is one of power systems, which uses supercritical carbon dioxide as the working fluid, converts the heat of the energy source into mechanical energy, and outputs electricity by converting the mechanical energy into electromagnetic energy, and, then, the power eventually.

The eCO2 supercritical carbon dioxide power generation process is divided into five steps to convert energy into electricity, which are 1. eCO2 storage application, 2. eCO2 flow control, 3. eCO2 power cycle, 4. eCO2 energy conversion, 5. eCO2 power supply, etc. The eCO2 energy conversion system utilizes the supercritical characteristics of CO2. When the temperature and pressure are higher than about 31 °C and 74 bar respectively, carbon dioxide is in a supercritical state and produces a working fluid. After being supercharged by the turbine blades in three stages, its high-pressure fluid rubs the turbine blades to output mechanical shaft power at a high speed of 35,000 RPM per minute, which is converted into mechanical rotational energy through the mechanical stress of the magnetic actuator, and then the generator is used to convert this rotational kinetic energy into electrical output.
